Chronic Poverty Reports
Policy Briefs
These Policy Briefs, part of the longer CPRC series, present key elements of the Chronic Poverty Report 2008-09 in a more concise format. They are intended to serve as a quick guide to some of the key policy points made in the Report, and an introduction to the Report for those pressed for time!
Firstly, the Executive Summary is available for download as a separate document. Then, four Policy Briefs focus on the four central policy chapter themes from the Report – Social Protection, Growth, Gender and Social Change, and Conflict and Fragile States. Two more look at all of the Report’s themes: Untold Stories presents life history material offering a window into the experience of being chronically poor, and of being the object of poverty policy; Policies in Action looks at brief case studies of existing attempts to implement the kind of policies recommended in the Report.
They will be available to download below, and will also be available on our searchable publications database.
